Before you can transform your identity, you have to define the problem.
And the problem is this: Many voices are shaping who you believe you are.
This is why, before Jesus began His ministry, God spoke from heaven, declaring:
"This is My Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17)
Jesus’ identity was affirmed before He did anything. But Adam and Eve faced a different voice—the serpent. His lie? “You will be like God.” (Genesis 3:5)
Yet they were already made in God's image. The first attack on humanity wasn’t about behavior—it was about identity.
The same battle is happening in your life. The voices you listen to are shaping how you see yourself. Some uplift. Others distort. Psychologists call this the Pygmalion Effect—we often live up (or down) to the expectations placed on us.
Maybe that’s why, the second time God spoke from heaven, He added:
"This is My Son… listen to Him!" (Mark 9:7)
The first step in identity transformation? Identify the voices influencing you.
