The above quote by Einstein has always deeply touched me. I think the concept can be easily translated to our finances. Essentially, there are two ways to look at life:
Everything we have is ours.
Everything belongs to God.
In the first worldview (everything we have is ours), our success, our provision, our giving, and our survival is up to us. In the second, everything belongs to God. This is the idea that we refer to as “stewardship.”
To steward means to “conduct, supervise, or manage” something “entrusted to one’s care.” Stewardship is both a practical and a spiritual matter.
