Throughout Scripture, the eagle is a metaphor for God, the overcoming believer, and the successful Christian life. The eagle has many lessons for us as Christians who desire to discover the fullness of our identity in Christ. The Bible mentions eagles over thirty times. The first mention is in Exodus 19, where God compares himself to an eagle.

'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself." - Exodus 19:4

As we mature in our faith, our identity begins to reflect more and more on the nature of our heavenly father. If God describes Himself as an eagle, our identity will eventually be transformed into this reality.

Built Different

One notable difference between the eagle and other birds in the animal kingdom is this - eagles fly into storms. This is significant for us as believers today, as we live in a time of global drama (storms).
