As believers, we're called to soar—just like the eagle in Isaiah 40:31: "those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles." To keep soaring in Christ, we need to be mindful of the things that can drag us down and hold us back from the abundant life God has for us. Recently, I’ve been reflecting on the things that pull me down from my soaring identity. I want to share them with you, and I hope they resonate.
1. Administrative Drag
Daily tasks can become overwhelming, whether you're managing a household, balancing work, or handling school responsibilities. It's important to be faithful in little, but some little things are not your big purpose. There’s a balance we must maintain here. While these tasks are necessary, they can weigh you down if they consume all your energy. Martha in the Bible was so caught up in the details of hosting Jesus that she missed the opportunity to simply be in His presence (Luke 10:38-42).
